Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com
Like the industry leader in sports television that created it, ESPN the Magazine is big, bold, and brash, using its oversize format to show off striking full-page images and splashy sidebars. It's not all flash, though: the magazine also gets contributions from familiar on-air talent such as Dan Patrick, Chris Berman, Stuart Scott, Peter Gammons, and John Clayton as well as the athletes themselves. The biweekly format doesn't allow for the minutiae that The Sporting News handles, so you'll get broader features--playoff previews, personality profiles, photo spreads--with an emphasis on basketball, football, baseball, hockey, and some extreme sports, though off-season coverage tends to be limited to a page or two. --David Horiuchi

Product Description
The Magazine for the NEXT generation of sports fans with emphasis on the personality, lifestyle & off--the-field activities of today's newsworthy &up-and-coming athletes. All delivered with insights, humor, cutting edge design and in-your-face photography.

2 out of 5 stars Sportscenter on Paper: Colorful and fast but offers no depth   August 27, 2008
I've subscribed to ESPN and The Sporting News for a couple years now. When my subscriptions end, I won't be renewing ESPN.

I want detailed sports information, in-depth stories and the kind of details I can't find in my morning copy of USA Today. Instead, ESPN delivers a Maxim-esque version of sports with lots of popular culture reference and clip art. And plenty of ads for gold jewelry, cell phones and men's body spray.

I used to complain more but I've come to realize the magazine is a reflection of SportsCenter -- a show that has devolved into a series of annoying euphemisms for home runs, slam dunks and touchdowns.

Bottom line: If you love SportsCenter, you'll love ESPN magazine. If not, look at the newly-redesigned The Sporting News or Sports Illustrated.

2 out of 5 stars a bit disappointed   August 8, 2008
As traditional sports fans, sons were a bit disappointed in coverage; only have 2 issues so will wait and see: price was excellent, very fast delivery, no hidden charges

5 out of 5 stars Best Sports Mag   June 13, 2008
ESPN the network sucks besides PTI and Collge Football Gameday but this mag is pretty good.I look foward to getting my new one every 2 weeks
way better than SI,TSN or anything else.

5 out of 5 stars Great Imagery   May 28, 2008
ESPN magazine has always been a favorite of mine. They have interesting stories and outstanding photography. They are definitely top notch behind the lens.

5 out of 5 stars Good for Dad   April 20, 2008
I bought this for my dad's birthday and he loves it. And will continue loving it for the rest of the year.
