Ariat Men's Smolder H2O August 27, 2008 G. An (Minneapolis, MN) I ride a sportbike and didn't think this type of boots would be best choice for me. But I will be switching over to a cruiser next year and didn't really want to spend another $140 for another pair of boots when that happens. Pros: Boots are very comfortable fit. Size appears to run 1/2 size smaller so if you wear 9 like me, order 9.5. Provides good ankle protection without being too tight. The material appears to be quality construction and warrants the price shown. If I had a cruiser, the metal pieces inserted would come in handy. Cons: I have tough time shifting with these like I do with regular shoes. So I have to use the protruding sole layer on the side to shift up as I have hard time getting the boot to go under it on my bike (ZX-6R). There is a large print that says "WATERPROOF" on the side and that makes the boots appear rather cheap. Overall, I like the boots. I have rubbed off the "WATERPROOF" marking on the side and treated the leather and the strap that goes across the boots can be functional but I don't tighten it too much. I chose this over the Harley Davidson boots, because I found it to be more comfortable, but you will need to try on all of them to know for sure. And I don't recommend this for sportbike riders but this is better than the Power Ranger boots if you are going to work. * Goodyear welt construction * Premium oiled full-grain leather upper * Waterproof membrane construction * Mesh lined * Metal toe rand * Duratread(tm) outsole * Patent pending Metal Mounts(tm) peg rests * 8" height * Round toe
Good boot July 5, 2008 Mike Sasson (Las Vegas, NV) Great boot, but for the Money I think Xelement Brand Motorcycle Boots are better. Overall this had all the things one needs in a biker boot but my Xelement boots is the same if not better with half the price.
