Mostly Good.. August 23, 2008 R. Baker (Tulsa, OK United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have these shoes in all three colors (black, brown, beige), and have worn almost nothing else for the last five years. The comfort is unmatched by any shoes I know of, and I love the design also. The beige variety are no longer made, the reason for that may be the soles. The black rubber used on the black and brown Cross isn't used on the beige uppers, instead the soles are a matching beige rubber which is apparently inferior and much less durable. The pair I own ripped on the bottom in a matter of weeks - very disappointing. So in sum, these are great shoes as long as you stick to the brown and black styles.
Echo shoes best for your arch August 2, 2008 WALL-Y (Cool, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
ECCO Men's Cross Oxford I have worn Eccos (black Men's Cross Oxford)for 10 years, esp after having plantar faciitis from wearing deck shoes. Fashionable, the rage, but hell on the arch. I buy a new pair every 2-3 years and cylce the old ones into "outside work" shoes. I have never had an issue with them and wear nothing else for work and going out. They are easy to take care of, brush them and they look as good as new. There is also a "sealer" available that helps prolong that new, brushed look. If you do not brush once in a while, they will get that flat shiny look. As to the one comment that color was off, this may be a factor of the way the nap on the shoe lies, a brushing should help this. I would not try to resole these shoes, they are not classic flat shoe leather bottoms with tops sewn on ala standard florsheim shoe. All in all, I know I will be very sad if or when these shoes are off the market. They are incredibly comfortable, light and good looking. I also suggest that you wear your shoes LOOSLEY, do not crank down on the laces. I know this will take a bit to get used to, but it will save your feet and arch. Finally, suggest highly wool socks. They are cushy and they wick moisture. Smart Wool, Wig-Wams work well. Off to buy my eccos......
These shoes are junk. July 25, 2008 TR (ca) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
These shoes are a waste of your money. After having the almost new shoes resoled by Ecco the second set fell apart after being worn a dozen times. Tape your money to the bottom of your feet and you'll get a better result for your hard earned cash.
Shoddy shoe brand with notoriously defective soles July 2, 2008 Paul H. (Oregon, USA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Considering the price - the soles of Ecco's will fall apart in a few years even if you only wear them occasionally and the soles appear nearly new. Bought some at Nordstroms years ago, then the soles disintegrated. Nordstrom's sent them back to Ecco for a free resoling. This time the foam core which was replaced also turned into gummy crumbling mess 4 or 5 years later. Don't buy them.
ECCO Shoes - unsatisfied with product - return process was easy. December 14, 2007 K. Daly (Crystal, MN United States) 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
When we received the shoes, we were not satisfied with the color. One shoe was much darker than the other shoe - a lot darker. The return process was simple and we quickly received our credit.
